Coach O’Riley is an USATF National Emerging-Elite Coach with 15 years experience at multiple levels. He was recognized as the 2022 Westchester County Co-Coach of the Year for boys’ spring track.
Over a 9-year scholastic stint, his athletes at Valhalla High School garnered 28 all-state finishes atop the podium at the NYS championships – including the 2023 Division 2 State Champion in the 200 meters.
He founded the NY Metro Elite Track & Field Club in 2020 and works privately with sprinters, hurdlers, jumpers (and athletes from other sports) as a speed and elastic strength development specialist.
He was mentored by USATF Master Coach Jeremy Fischer at the 2022 USATF National Championships in Oregon and remains in active contact. Most recently he presented a horizontal jumps clinic at the NYC Armory alongside Marquis Dendy, a world class athlete and current national Long Jump champion.
O’Riley has presented clinics internationally in Colombia, Guatemala and Panama.
He worked with Noah Jefferson, who placed 2nd in the 400 meters at the 2022 Guatemalan National Championships.
Finally, he served as an assistant hurdles and jumps coach at the University of Albany (NCAA I) from 2003-2008 and help to guide numerous America East conference champions and regional meet qualifiers.
