WHO WE ARE

FAITH | CHARACTER | RESPONSIBILITY | INTEGRITY | COMMITMENT | DISCIPLINE | RESPECT | HOPE

For to this you have been called because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, so that you might follow in his steps.”  1 Peter 2:21

12th Rock’s Statement of Faith

We believe the Bible to be the inspired and authoritative Word of God (2 Timothy 3:16-17)

We believe in one God, who exists as three equal persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:19) (1 John 5:7)

We believe in the deity (John 10:30), virgin birth (Matthew 1:23), perfect humanity and sinless life (1 Peter 2:22), atoning death (1 Corinthians 15:3), bodily resurrection (Matthew 28:6), and the ascension (Acts 1:9) of the Lord Jesus Christ.

We believe Jesus Christ is the only means of salvation from sin and the sole mediator between God and man (Acts 4:12) (1 Timothy 2:5)

We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, through whose ministry, believers today are
empowered to live a godly life (1 Corinthians 2:10-13)

We believe that man’s only hope of redemption is through the shed blood of Jesus Christ. Salvation is a gift each person receives when they repent of their sins to God and put their faith in Jesus Christ. Sanctification initially occurs at salvation and is not only a declaration that a believer is holy, but also a progressive lifelong process of separating from evil as believers continually draw closer to God and become more Christlike (1 Corinthians 1:30-31) (Hebrews 10:9-10)

We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ. Those who place their faith in Jesus Christ are immediately placed by the Holy Spirit into one unified body, with Christ as the Head. The purpose of this unified body, the church, is to glorify God by: building itself up in faith, instruction of the Word, fellowship, and proclaiming the gospel to the entire world (Matthew 28:18-20) (1 Corinthians 12:13)
